A little about me
Hi! I’m Amanda Figge, born and raised Utahan who ventured out after high school to figure myself out. I went to college on the east coast, got my degree in Chemical Engineering, and have been working in the food manufacturing industry for 12 years over 5 different states. I was content with my career until…
I got pregnant with my first and deep dived into the technical aspects of birth. I was fascinated that my body was built to birth. I read numerous books, took a Bradly Method class, hired my own Doula, listened to podcasts and really became obsessed. I had an amazing in hospital birth with the help of my husband, doula and OB. I knew I wanted to do it again (and again…)
My second was born in a birth center. As if my experience couldn’t get better from my first, it did. I was so empowered by my body growing and birthing a child. I wanted anyone and everyone to feel that same empowerment.
So here I am. A trained doula helping other woman have the empowering experience and birth that I had. I’m still at my other job, but this has really become my true passion.
My Belief
I believe, regardless of birth preferences, all women should be happy with their birthing experience. There’s a lot of focus put on birthing a “specific way” that sometimes people overlook the beautiful uniqueness that each birth brings. Whatever decisions you want in your birth, I want you to feel confident that, whatever that baby brings, you will feel empowered in the process.
Let’s chat and see if it’s a fit.
